How to Print from an Android Phone (No Extra App)
Android 8 and later can print to most Wi-Fi printers with the built-in Default Print Service, without extra apps.
Steps
- Connect the phone to the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- Open Settings and search for “Printing” (often under Connected devices, then Connection preferences).
- Turn on Default Print Service, or the print service from your printer's maker if you installed one.
- Open the photo, PDF or web page you want, tap Share or the ⋮ menu, then Print.
- Choose your printer at the top, set copies, paper size and color, then tap the print button.
Tips
- If the printer doesn't appear, restart the printer and the phone, and check both are on the same network.
- Menu names vary between phone brands; searching Settings for “print” is the quickest way.
